The American Kuvasz Association (AKA) is an organization devoted to the promotion and protection of the Kuvasz. The AKA supports conformation excellence by holding sponsored entries at American Kennel Club all breed shows. AKA initiatives, such as the Health Committee, work to identify threats to the well-being of all Kuvasz. Assistance to Kuvasz owners is addressed by the Mentor Program. This program endeavors to create a support network for Kuvasz owners. The American Kuvasz Association newsletter, The Kuvasz Times, recognizes conformation and obedience entrants along with its primary mission of providing a resource to the Kuvasz community. Needs of individual Kuvasz are addressed through the AKA Rescue Committee. The Rescue Committee attempts to place homeless Kuvasz into good homes, both helping the dog in need and providing a new owner with a loving companion.
